Arminia Bielefeld unveiled its complete kit set for the season starting in August on Thursday – the blue home jersey and the black away jersey are now available in the club shop. The team wore the new home kit for the first time during a friendly against SC Peckeloh, a design that reflects the historic “black‑white‑blue band”.

What is the “black‑white‑blue band”?

The band refers to the Arminia hymn written in 1920, the oldest club song. According to the club statement, the symbol now links the three pillars of the organization: fans, the city of Bielefeld and DSC Arminia Bielefeld itself. In the home jersey, stylised triangular flags embedded with embossed technique represent the fan community. The black away jersey incorporates the city’s coat‑of‑arms sparren and the colours of the Sparrenburg flag to underline the city connection.

How were the kits created?

Jakob Amico, the club’s marketing manager, said the design blends traditional values with a modern look. Working with kit supplier Umbro resulted in a classic blue‑white V‑neck on the home jersey and a restrained colour palette on the away version. Both models feature shimmering structures that only become apparent on a closer look. The red‑white collar and logo on the away kit reinforce the Sparrenburg flag motif.

What do the kits cost?

The adult home jersey is priced at €85, available in sizes S to 5XL, and also offered in a women’s cut (34‑44). The children’s version costs €60 (JXS‑JXL). Club members receive a ten‑percent discount. An optional sleeve patch can be added for €15, while a player name patch costs €15 as well. All variants are immediately available in the online fan store and at retail locations on Jahnplatz and at the Schüco‑Arena.

How does this fit Arminia’s current situation?

The club currently sits 13th in the 2. Bundesliga with 39 points, a record of 10 wins, 9 draws and 15 losses from 34 games. In the last five matches Arminia recorded 2 wins, 1 draw and 2 losses, and the team is on a two‑game winning streak. The most recent result was a dominant 6‑1 victory over Hertha BSC on 17 May 2026. Overall, the side has scored 53 goals and conceded 51, giving a slim +2 goal difference. They are 31 points behind league leaders FC Schalke 04.

What does this mean for supporters?

The new kits aim to make the close bond between fans and the club visible. With personalisation options, supporters can add their name and number – a feature that resonates well with the loyal fan base. The club hopes the design will become a strong symbol of unity not only on the pitch but also throughout the streets of Bielefeld.
